Overseas Buyers

If you reside overseas and are not an Australian citizen or you do not hold a Resident Visa there may be limitations on your ability to purchase property in Australia.

The FIRB (The Foreign Investment Review Board) may need to approve your purchase before you can proceed. Check out the FIRB website for more information.
 

You do not need FIRB approval if:

		You are an Australian citizen (including those who are married to an overseas citizen and are purchasing property in joint names)
		You have an Australian ‘Resident Visa’ or ‘Special Category Visa (such as NZ citizens).
